Availability and Back Orders

From time to time items that are listed as in stock may in fact not be as occasionally human error happens. 

Vosso Studio pieces are often custom made and there is sometimes a delay with getting stones or other materials required as products are not mass produced. We apologise if this situation does occur and will contact you within 48 hours to offer you a refund, discuss placing the item on backorder for you, or offering you a suitable alternative.

Some of our pieces are also listed elsewhere and are one of a kind. In the extremely unlikely case that it sells on both sites at the same time the first person to purchase will be the owner and we will be in touch as soon as possible to offer you a refund or the option to purchase a similar piece if you should happen to be the one to miss out.

Refunds and Exchanges

Any contact regarding returns, refunds or exchanges must be made within 7 days of receipt of purchase by emailing us at vossonz@gmail.com.

Vosso Studio may accept returns for products purchased directly from our website and other online portals we sell through directly within NZ (not internationally). Proof of purchase is required. If you have made a purchase in a market situation directly from us, please get in touch.

• No refunds or exchanges due to change of mind.

• Any items returned/exchanged need to be in new, unworn condition and be in their original packaging.

• No refunds for any purchases made using Afterpay or Laybuy due to the complicated terms and conditions and non-recoverable fees charged to us by these services.

• No exchanges of earrings or body piercing jewellery due to hygiene requirements.

• Unless the goods are damaged or defective or not as specified in your order, return shipping and insurance is at the cost and responsibility of the consumer. If the goods were faulty or incorrect then the cost of return postage will be refunded to you.

• Refunds will not be given if the goods have been damaged by you, this includes damage caused by inadequate packaging by you when returning goods.

• A further shipping charge will be required to send your exchange unless it is an error on our part.

• Resizing may be possible on some limited items but not all. 

An additional charge will be required for resizing if the order was placed in the wrong size. Please ensure you check the size required.

Please take note of the following about our craft.

We trust that you appreciate that our products are made using natural materials which may contain inclusions and fractures. Nothing we make is meant to be perfect. We love the beauty of imperfection in the organic nature of our products. We often intentionally leave file and hammer marks to indicate the hand made nature of our craft.

We are working towards using exclusively fair trade gems. In the meantime, we are consciously trying to make good choices with the purchase of all our materials. We also incorporate found items and objects directly from nature wherever possible.

Repairs

We will repair any manufacturing fault at no cost within 3 months of the purchase date, providing the item has been treated within the guidelines.

These guidelines would be as follows:

• Proof of purchase is required;

• Do not spray perfume or any other chemicals on or near the piece as this may damage the surface or finish;

• Do not drop the item or put it down on a hard surface with unnecessary force;

• If it is indicted to remove a piece before showering then please do

• Opal and some other stones are fragile in nature, this will be indicated in the item description; and

• Activities such as, but not exclusive to, gardening, working with chemicals, spraying perfume on or near the piece, swimming, showering and sleeping with the item on may affect the longevity of your piece. To extend the life of your piece of jewellery please remove the item before engaging in any of the above stated activities and take good care of your jewellery.

Manufacturing faults do not include: Lost, chipped, cracked or broken gemstones. Broken chains. General wear and tear including rings that have bent out of shape, oxidisation of metals or plating that has worn off.

If you would like any of the above repairs made, we can assess the damage and will let you know the cost before proceeding.

Below are some details to help you understand the finish.

Gold Nuggets and Gold Flakes

Most gold nuggets and flakes used are sourced locally from a small family operation in Takaka, Murchison and the West Coast. These layers of gold may wear down over time.

Gold Plating, Keum Boo, Vermil and Gold Fill

• Gold Plating - is a very thin layer of 14 CT gold applied to the exterior of the base metal using electroplating. That base metal in most cases is sterling silver, however, on some chains, it may be brass or another metal.

• Gold Vermil and Gold Fill - is a slightly thicker layer of gold that is rolled onto the exterior surface of the base metal during the manufacturing process. It requires a minimum of 5% of the metal total to be gold and has a much longer life span than gold plating.

• Keum Boo - is the Korean process of using heat and pressure to bond 24 CT gold leaf to the surface of fine silver.

All these 3 types of finishes may wear down over time. It depends how you treat your piece of jewellery.

Activities such as, but not exclusive to, gardening, working with chemicals, spraying perfume on or near the piece, swimming, showering and sleeping with the item on will affect the longevity of the coating. To ensure a long lasting finish on your piece of jewellery please remove the item before engaging in any of the above stated activities and take good care of your jewellery.

Brass and Bronze

Are both more unstable metals prone to tarnishing. We like the organic nature and discolouration of these metals and use them intentionally for their price point and organic look. In some cases we may have applied a special coating to protect the metal and keep it shiny but in most cases, expect these metals to change and evolve over time.

Sterling Silver and Fine Silver

Both sterling and fine silver are used. Sterling silver contains 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper to harden the metal. Fine silver contains 99.9% and is much softer. 

Sterling silver is more prone to tarnishing and in some cases is intentionally tarnished. Fine silver is more tactile and specifically used for some processes,  i.e.-must be used when doing Keum Boo pieces and must be used when applying enamel to silver work. It is also often used as a bezel setting around a stone.
